Good idea

No change here in Humacao. As we look over the city at night, there is very little light. I haven't heard any updates regarding electrical service. If anyone hears something reliable, please post the information. Thanks!

What brand solar power charger do you have?

Talked to people in Aguadilla, they say no power or water in the entire area..聽
I am supposed to go there in 7 days, but do not know where I can stay if all the services are down.
Should I try a nearby town like Mayaguez for a hotel?
This trip is to get renovations started on my house, so I really want to get the ball rolling.
Curious why the water would be out?
Is it reliant on electricity to turn pumps on etc?

Yes on water depending on pumps, also Electricity needed for water treatment.
I heard some places in Mayaguez have power and Cabo Rojo is not too bad, make a call before you go.
Places that have power may still experience shutdowns so they can repair some sections without personal getting killed during repairs.

I've had water and power the whole time. Condo we moved to had a generator and cistern. We lucked out. Condos around us weren't so lucky.

No power here in Vega Baja, just got water up today, using my generator, just got phone service up today, but it's in and out, worried about the next storm,聽 praying that Jose goes north of us as projected.

I like and then use their vivo menue (live) but you have to be good at spanish. Lots of coverage as to what is going on, the storms and the damage.

At least PR is in better shape than parts of Mexico with their earthquake

No power, no water, no internet.
The latter will be reconnected tomorrow, we just talked with one of the owners of the ISP.
Generator running great (burning a lot of money but it's worth it). Water stil plenty.
All in all not too bad, slowly getting back to normal.

Don't worry, Jos茅 will not hurt PR. St Martin may not be so lucky and that island already took a very hard hit from Irma..

Actually searching around, you may need to get another brand... Not easy to find any..

Along with no power, we no longer have water. We have a supply, but bathing with a bucket is not fun. Some of Humacao has had services restored, so we're hopeful that ours will be soon. Hang in there everyone. We're counting our blessings considering what could have happened!

Wow... Sorry to hear..

I just can't imagine what would have happened to PR if there was a direct hit...

I agree, I found that out when I went through my first water outage. Where we live it's a record if we have no water outage for 4 weeks or so. No clue why they do it but they seem to like to cut my area off.
That's why I installed 4 cisterns with a total capacity of 2,000 gallons.
Same goes for electricity, a generator is a must, especially when you live out in the boonies. We lose power at least once a month..
Internet was restored today and that's really good. I can go back to work again and won't have to explain clients in Europe (Holland Germany) why I can't work.

Absolutely! If you look at St. Martin...
Talking about St.Martin, I got a call from my brother in law, a nurse, that in a hospital in Caguas they are in need of somebody who can translate Dutch. They flew in a bunch of people from St. Martin who urgently need medical care.
I put my friend, the consul, on this. Hopefully he can organize what's needed.

Monday afternoon: no power, no water.
Generator working great and we still have plenty of water.

Looking down in the valley yesterday night we saw a lot more streetlights聽 - good sign.
The emergency crews from the municipality are coming by every couple of days with a water tanker so people can fill up their tanks.
We're surviving just fine.

Seems as though good parts of Humacao electricity came back Saturday night...

A friend of mine told me that AEE said somewhere online (I couldn't find it yet) that 75% of the customers are having power again.

That does not include his apartment in Condado, his office building in Guaynabo and my house in El Campo.聽
They are informing on Twitter where they are working:

Gotta find a way to get reimbursement for the 15 to 20 bucks I'm spending on gas daily to keep the gen-set running.
I'm also 100% sure that AEE will send us a normal full invoice and I would be in trouble if I don't pay..

I gave up long ago trying to understand the bunch of idiots running this island and the utilities...

We still don't have power, although we're looking down the mountain, and houses within view have had theirs restored. None of the homes on our road have power. At one point we also lost water, but that came back Sunday morning. We're thankful for what we have, but we just wonder when all of Barrio Mariana can expect to have service. I'm glad all of you are safe.

Still no power here. Some people in the are said water was restored but I don't see it (yet)..

Power came back on early evening on Thursday, the day after the hurricane here in Vega Baja. Internet as well. Btw, I just want to mention Liberty has been great during this whole time keeping their customers informed as to what has been going on. They also gave all their clients free premium channels until the end of this month to make up for any disturbances. Great PR and customer service.

We never lost power during the hurricane in Sabana Grande, the day after we went without power for 24hrs. Never lost water service since the AAA installed the new generator at the plant for our area.

Water is back. We didn't even use one third of the water in our cisterns.

Sprint has been nice - no charge for calls, data and聽 roaming for a week. Pretty cool!

AEE reports that 92% of their customers have power. I'm pretty sure that their main goal is to raise that number so they look good.聽 The last 8% (to which I belong) are in bad luck...
