Recommendations for attorneys and health insurance

prj44

I plan on living in Panama City.  I would like recommendations from current residents as to attorneys they have used for the purpose of obtaining residency. I will be applying for the pensionado permit.  Also, recommendations for health insurance. I am 67, so it would have to be international companies that will write policies for those over 64. If you have experience with one or more health insurers, please let me know your likes and dislikes and whether you would use them again.  Thanks!

I’ve been living in Panama City for a while now and went through the pensionado visa process and  residency, I worked with Agroup Consulting and had a great experience. They were very thorough, explained the process in plain English, and kept me updated the whole way. Everything went smoothly, and I’d gladly use them again.

For health insurance, there are plenty of options here, both local and international. Since you’re over 64, I’d suggest looking into companies that don’t have strict age limits and will cover you worldwide. I can’t recommend one specifically because it really depends on your health needs and travel plans, but there are brokers in Panama who can compare multiple policies for you. Be sure to ask about coverage for pre-existing conditions, maximum payout limits, and whether the policy covers you outside Panama if you plan to travel. Always glad to share my experience if it helps :) Just let me know.
