Residency for same-sex couple

Marie-Elisabeth

Hello everyone!

I got a job offer and i will be moving to Punta Cana. I am a woman married to another woman, so legally our mariage is not recognized in the country. Any idea how my wife could join me there, long-term? Beside the option of her looking for a job while she's there on a visit visa (not a safe prospect). If anyone went through the same situation, I would love to hear about your experience or your suggestions.

She would have to seek normal residency status which starts in your home country the DR Consulate.

Yes this will not be fun. As its not recognized you cannot do family reunification. She will need to qualify on her own merits OR get a job offer as well.
