I would also be interested in knowing more about this ferry. I see it sailing by Casa de Campo and i believe it is an overnight sail.....

Well, here is my first review ever. I have never been on any type of cruise, so all I had was heresay, rumors and photos of others. I can say this "Mini Cruise" was very cool and fun. Some basic information it travels from Santo Domingo to San Juan and back several times a week. It leaves at 6:00 pm and arrives around 8:00 am the next day. It is a huge boat. You can bring your vehicles, pets, kids, significant other etc. It offers a dinner and breakfast buffet for about $29 dollars U.S. It has two large bars with access to dining. One inside bar inside and one outside that is partially covered on the upper deck. It also has karaoke (In Spanish) of course, with a live band. Finally, it has state rooms ranging from small one bed to up to six people prices vary of course. They also have an "Airplane" lounge. If you don't want to pay for a state room, (I didn't) when you get tired you can sleep on a large airplane type seat with plenty of leg room. Security is also tight. So feel you can feel safe. You process in at 2:00 and board at 3:00. Last but not lease, eat a good lunch, the restaurants/bars don't open until 4 or 5 pm. And make sure your electronics are fully charged and bring a power bank. I saw no where to charge my things and there is no wi-fi that I found. Last but not least it was cool and fun. I will definitely do this again, and I encourage every to try it. On my next trip I plan to take my car. At $300 round trip it's cheaper than renting a car. Pleasant Sailing Everyone

Great review! Thanks.

@WayneColeman Thanks so much for this review! Is $300 roundtrip price for a car and passenger? Or just passenger?

mocaman67

SO as to compare, IF the price covers car & passengers, say two passengers, how that does that compare with a return flight? Those that have flown, did you rent a car and if we were stay & return on the next ferry, would that be two nights or three? Be nice to size up the whole excursion!! I can find hotels & for us ex-service types, see if there's rental accommodations on Base there. Cheers

WayneColeman

No, vehicle and people prices are separate and different. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Seniors get discounted rates.

What about customs when you arrived to San Juan? Was it long?
