Costa Rica now requires vaccine passport as of Dec.1st, 2021

surfdog12

That would be Super Genius compared to anti-vaxers!  :)

And if this is not the forum for this, why do you keep spouting nonsense? It was a serious question, are you one that thinks you don't need follow the rules of the country you are in or an establishment you want to frequent?

surfdog12

It's truly hilarious when the conspiracy theorists can't research general scientifically accepted information but feel compelled to run with fringe tidbits from unreliable sources. I'm doing research! But, research regarding taking a vaccine which is safe and will help the community just don't seem to penetrate those obviously brilliant mindsets.

Please do a bit of research on which group of people are dying 3-1 over another group. I'd hate to see anyone win the Herman Cain award but in so many cases it just seems poetic justice.

And yes, there is a Reddit sub r/HermanCainAward  just for such people.

How do I remove myself from this group or is this done on your end
I would like to be removed please, I have enjoyed my time here and have met some nice people but it’s become to much with the Covid talk and the vaccine opinions

Thank you

Extreme right in the US, but a high number of the extreme left in the UK.
Ironic they should agree.

Fred

Posts with insults and/or conspiracy theory content will be removed

Hey admin
Just curious why Surfdog opinions are not getting deleted like the rest of us

Much as he holds a strong opinion, his posts don't push conspiracy theories or insult people.
Many others in this thread are guilty of both.

This forum - as most others in my opinion - needs the ability to BLOCK people whose posts we don't want to see.
Some people just infuriate others with their anti-vax, anti-science, anti-mask b.s. and honestly it just ruins the experience of the forum for me.

I use Twitter now a lot because it allows you to MUTE and/or BLOCK anyone who is just consistently
anti-vaccine (for example).
Will this forum consider creating the ability to right click on a member's icon and mute or block them? Otherwise, too many threads are just too maddening or frustrating to participate in.

When the smoke clears will see who the real idiots are.

Please report such posts  - They will be deleted so you don't have to bother. Light bulb and spanner people wandering the forum tend to get them anyway, but a report doesn't hurt.
Please don't report posts because they hold an opinion you don't share, just ones with insults and conspiracy stuff.

There has been little need for an ignore function until this anti-vax stuff appeared - That's when the big problems started. However, the forum's owner has been very clear such stuff is not acceptable so will be deleted.
An opinion someone doesn't like masks or isn't going to get vaccinated is not much to talk about - it's an opinion - but pushing conspiracy stuff is not.
I removed a lot of posts for consideration because they contained insults, political points held by extremists, or conspiracy ideals, but ignored any that stated a simple opinion.

Absolutely. Darwin's Theory will sort it out.

So glad you agree Sam. Pura vida.

can I please ask what the current restrictions are with regard to how they affect tourism?
specifically, in a hotel with a gym and a pool, would they be fully open?
and are all public beaches open? and other visitor attractions

what do you guys think will happen in the next few weeks, months, given the new variant?

and what restrictions were enforced previously?

we are scheduled to come over next week and if strict measures are in place, we will postpone. I have emailed 3 hotels/ airbnb operators and have received either no reply or bizarre replies that do not answer the question

I am double vaccinated and have vaccine passport

any help would be appreciated greatly

I have lived here for six years . No one really knows for sure what restrictions may take place,  with the new variant coming on the scene.
My best guess is that beaches will be open, tourist attractions will be open but some may have limitations on how many people can enter at once.
As it stands right now the last I heard is that the Q code for vaccines is being used and that establishments such as hotels and bars that use it can have full capacity and those who do not can have half capacity.

But that could change at any time if the Omicron variant becomes a problem.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone can truly know the answer to your question. The best you could get is an answer as to what is happening right now.

If your hotel does not answer the phone try to find a hotel similar to yours and ask them by calling. Usually big hotels have someone who speaks English.
Good luck.

hi
thanks for your help. The hotel in Tamarindo replied...everything is open and also judging by the news I have read in the Costa Rican press, things are improving on the Covid front, so hopefully there won't be any new restrictions in the next few weeks.

So we are going to come over and hope things keep improving.
