Unfortunately there is hundreds of the INOX Stainless steel shops but they dont do flat mild steel only stainless.

I'm after a fabrication/machine shop.

There's an advert in Yellow Pages for a company that does "sheet metal processing according to Dutch standards, including bending, welding, sheet metal stamping, laser cutting and punching of stainless steel, copper, aluminum, iron, ceramic ...Fiber CNC Laser Metal Cutting machine can cut sheet metal with thicknesses from 6mm to 25mm."

Hanoi has a street for everything because that's how it started out when the country was under the French, with the clearly defined H脿 N峄檌 36 Ph峄� Ph瓢峄漬g (Hanoi's 36 Streets of Trades) in and in the vicinity of Old Town.聽 About 20 of them are still more or less staying the same today.

Throughout history, Saigon has never conformed to anyone, any plan, any idea.

Yet without a master plan the Vietnamese of HCMC have still developed individual streets along similar lines.

Nguy峄卬 Thi峄噉 Thu岷璽 in district 2 is well known internationally as "Guitar Street" and I recall a furniture street (mostly upholstered type) in district 7.

I don't recall where, but I've seen at least one shoe street in HCMC, and L锚 C么ng Ki峄乽 within walking distance of B岷縩 Th脿nh market is definitely an antique street.

I agree that the area in the Hanoi old quarter is quite unique as a cluster of myriad "vocational streets".

However, in my travels around the country, it seems to be a Vietnamese cultural habit to group similar types of stores together.

I made a furniture purchase in Vu虄ng Ta虁u by having my driver take me to the street with so many affordable wooden (un-upholsterd)
furniture shops.

I also recall a street there with many carved furniture shops, the impressive creations that go for a much higher price, I'm sure.

And anyone wanting to find a plethora of pharmacies need only look across the street from the nearest hospital.
