I'd like to pay around $300 USD. I'm not picky on the brand, just that it's in decent shape.

I have a old motobike, I've been using about 7 years. I will change new one so I sell $300. My bike still works very well, not spend much gas and have payper .

Go along Bui Vien, up towards Go 2 Bar, cross over De Tham and on the right hand side is a very small shed type garage. The guys who own the place are brothers and have been dealing with expats for years and they do some great deals. I have bought two bikes of them and have never had any problems, they even fixed a few things for free. When you purchase the bike they also hand over the license, which I guess you can transfer into your name if you want to go that route, but really if your stopped which I have been you just say the聽 bike belongs to him.. Your still free to sell it on..
