Potassium nitrate is the chemical and it's renound for taking the lead out of more than one pencil. I've heard some Viet mothers feed it to their teenaged boys here, so it is around...maybe.

used to make gunpowder and also was fed to soldiers during the 1st world war to advert sexual excitement..........don't believe me google it

Saltpeter is very important to curing meats, it helps preserve the natural color of the meat and allows you to store the meat longer than a week or so.

But the are no regulations in the European Union or in the usa about saltpetre that why you should not use it the way to do it right is with cure1 witch is a sodium nitrit and salt mix
