How safe is it to run on the beach barefoot?

Is there a lot of sharp objects, broken glass along the beach?

Hi,

If you are running along the beach in Ngu Hanh Son District (the resort coastal line), you are pretty safe as the resorts have their staff pick up garbage on the sand on a daily, or even hourly basis.

The My Khe area is open to the general public, so it is not as clean during the day (they still have people clearing the beach at night). I find a lot of poorer people gathering recycleable bottles, tins, cans along My Khe beach, so you hardly encounter those things on the beach.

I have walked barefooted on the beach many times, and the only sharp things I might have stepped on are broken sea shells. However, to be safe, please stay closer to the water edge as the sea tends to do the sanity job for you. And of course, keep your eyes open. :)

Happy running!

That's great to know and thank you very much for the response!

I would say always wear some sort of foot protection anywhere in VN. Broken glass, junk, you name it, and you might very well step on it!
