Living in Ha Tien

kirkwho10

Hi,
My partner and I are thinking about moving to Ha Tien (from within Vietnam) sometime in the near future. We love nature, quiet atmosphere, and open spaces. We live a fairly conservative, local lifestyle.

What are your thoughts about living long term in Ha Tien?

How easy is it to find accommodation? (Where is the best place to start looking?)

Are there many aquarium stores around the city?

How's the job market for a Vietnamese recent graduate?

I'd love to hear your thoughts about living in Ha Tien, things you like, dislike, and everything in-between. Thanks!

Ok cool. I saw some of his other posts but wasn't sure how current the information was. I'll keep looking. Thanks!

Yes, I still do use the forum!! As far as living in Ha Tien goes,I certainly like it here,I've lived here for 11 years,it is quiet (especially now since the spread of Covid) The scenery is beautiful, there is no real pollution,as there is no heavy industry anywhere near here, and the cost of living is low.As I am married to a Vietnamese lady, it is relatively easy visa wise, the Immigration department in Rach Gia handles that side of things. To answer your specific questions 1) Yes accommodation is reasonably easy to find. There are many hotels and guest houses to stay in while you look for accommodation.Best way to do this is just walk around and look for signs and ask people There are mostly houses for rent or shop houses if you intend to start a business .No apartments at this stage, although I believe some are being built as we speak.2)One or two small pet shops,no real aquarium places 3)It really depends on your qualifications and what sort of work you are looking for, More information needed for a more precise answer
