Interested in attending a Chinese/Vietnamese Wedding in Saigon?

Mishen

I'm a New Zealander who's about to marry my long-term Vietnamese-Chinese fiancee in Saigon. We've been living in Auckland for the past two years and are preparing for the ceremony to be held on New Year's Eve at the Windsor Hotel. Trouble is, 90% of the friends I invited to Vietnam - most of whom initially confirmed - cancelled, and my guest list is now pitifully small. It's a bit embarrassing for me to have my side represented by about 7 people when my fiancee's parents have invited about 200 friends and family from here and Cambodia.

We thought it would be nice to invite a few Westerners (or foreigners from any country) to bump up my numbers and enjoy the ceremony with us. If you're a friendly person or a couple, travelling through or living in HCMC, have some smart clothes to wear, and are free on the 31st of December in the evening, you'd be welcome to attend! It's a chance not only to get a free meal at a Windsor Hotel banquet, but also to experience a very colourful ceremony that even I am still coming to grips with! Because my fiancee's family are predominantly SEA Chinese from Cambodia, the wedding will have characteristics from their culture, and will involve music, Cambodian dancing, and hopefully a lot of fun. We'd appreciate making some new friends here too!
