There is a glut of wristwatches in specialty stores,  since no one is buying watches now that they use the clock on their mobile phones.

So you should be able to find a good selection at any of the stores that used to specialize in Seiko, Citizen, Bulova & many, many other good quality watches.

Just be careful where you wear it, as Saigon Cowboys will still snatch a watch from your wrist and take along a chunk of your thumb in the process.

Good luck!

I once saw a business acquaintance in Saigon. After a few drinks and feeling less inhibited, I asked him what caused the huge scar on his wrist. He said that scar was where his Rolex used to be.

I'm a bit of a watch-guy, myself.

1961 Benrus, 18kt gold, automatic (sadly, stolen in Thai Nguyen, VN 3 years ago)

1959 Longines, 14kt gold, mechanical (my favourite. sentimental)

2008 Bulova, stainless steel skeleton watch, automatic (my nighttime and carousing watch)

2016 Lorus (SEIKO subsidiary), digital, 100m waterproof, indestructible (though I've inadvertently made effort to on a few occasions)

There are others, which I left back in Canada.

So, are you looking for a man's or a lady's watch?

Digital or analogue?

If analogue, would you prefer battery, automatic, or wind-up?

Waterproof?

You mentioned "Cheap". How cheap?

Rough and/or dirty environment?

I'll make a suggestion when you have time to let me know your preferences.

p.s. I changed the battery in the Lorus just two weeks ago. The battery was 7 years old, but still had enough juice to keep accurate time

In December of 2005 I bought a Seiko 5 watch in Thailand for $50 US. It's still keeping good time. Five $10 watches that crap out after a few weeks? No thanks.

If you're looking for something reliable, you might want to consider sticking with brands like Casio or Seiko. Both have affordable options on Lazada, and they're known for durability. You can easily find models under $50 that will give you good value for your money.

Also, if you're into stylish watches and don't mind exploring replicas, I came across a site that offers high-quality replicas at reasonable prices. It's a good alternative if you want something that looks premium without breaking the bank. You might want to check out this site ***
