Newbee Introduction

andysmith1965

Hi to all... !... Am new and just wanted to introduce myself to all.

I (like about a million others) am looking to relocate to Thailand and am on that frustrating journey looking for a suitable job to support the move to the land of smiles...  :-)

I have been traveling to Thailand for both business and pleasure now for about 10 years and really am addicted to the culture, country, people with the weather just being an added bonus!

Am married to a Thai lady that has been living with me in the UK for nearly 3 years now but we both would love to return to Thailand. Have a house in a village outside Korat and will be returning for a vacation in December....we are both counting down the days!

Well I will be spending some time reading some blogs and messages and am always looking to network with anyone that may help on this rocky road of securing a job so if there is anyone out there with any 'constructive' comments then I would be really happy to hear from you....

CHEERS.....
Andy

So, just thought I would update you all on progress to living my dream in Thailand (thanks for the prompt Julien)

Well my current employer is seriously considering a start-up operation in Rayong so I have been supplying as much data as possible to encourage this strategy. There is a key senior management meeting in June so I hope they will support this activity and I have been selling myself as the man that can be in-country to assist with the development of the operation. Fingers crossed!!!!  ;-)

My wife wants to start up a business for herself also so our return trip this year will be to focus on this.....We were in Thailand during December and it it tougher every time we have to leave to return to the UK.....At least now there is a small glimmer of hope that we can latch onto....If the work related move fails then its a retirement visa route at the end of next year for me and the wife will have to work extra hard to keep me in beers as I enjoy the sun poolside!!!!  hahaha (yeah right!)

Cheers
Andy
