Used cars from South Korea

Title: Seeking Information on Buying Used Cars from Korea

Hello everyone,

I've been noticing a trend lately where many people are advertising used European brand cars that were previously used in Korea and then exported to South Europe. These cars are being sold at prices that are significantly lower (around 30-40%) compared to the European market.

I'm interested in learning more about this process and potentially purchasing a used car from Korea. However, I want to make sure I have all the necessary information before making a decision.

Is there anyone here who has experience with buying used cars from Korea or knows someone who does? I would greatly appreciate any insights, tips, or recommendations you can provide regarding the reliability of these cars, the export process, potential pitfalls to watch out for, and any other relevant information.

Thank you in advance for your help!

While I don't have personal experience, I've heard mostly good things about importing used cars from Korea. A friend of mine bought a 3-year-old Kia there and had it shipped to Australia - he's been very happy with it. From what I understand, Korean cars are well-maintained and regularly serviced. Make sure to get a thorough inspection and check for any accident history. Also, confirm the export process and any fees up front to avoid surprises.

I'm surprised to hear that Australia would permit the import/use of cars with left-hand drive.

Did your friend use the KIA for parts, or does he drive it?
