Issuance of spass

pixiepuff

During the processing of my spass, i had to exit the country because my visit pass was expiring. Fortunately, my spass was approved. Then I went back to Singapore.

However, it has been 3 weeks since my medical appointment and the agent assigned for my application has not yet processed it.

His explanation was that my employer had not yet settled the levy payment. I confirmed with the employer and he has recently settled the issue. The agent then told me that this payment will reflect after 5 days in the MOM.

My worry is that my visit pass again will expire in a week. And if the payment will only reflect after 5 days, I'm not sure if the remaining time is enough for my spass to be processed before my visit pass expires.

Do I have to exit again to renew my visit pass for another 30 days? Or is it ok to stay in Singapore since I already have my IPA. I really don't want to exit another country as it is costly.

If you plan to stay in Singapore longer than your current visa allows, you should NEVER exit the country and re-enter. Instead, visit ICA and try to get a visa extension. If that is not given, you must exit Singapore and NOT come back until you have an approved visa from an embassy (or ICA/MoM).

I have already been hired by my employer and they scheduled me to work soon. I think I have to stay longer in Singapore in order to attend the scheduled appointment with MOM for the spass. But considering the time left, I am not sure if it is enough before my visit pass expires. And I don't think that the agent has yet scheduled my appointment with MOM.

I was also wondering why it would take so long for them to schedule my appointment considering that my IPA was already approved and I have also finished my medical. I know friends who are also working in Singapore, their spass (after the IPA was approved) application process was quite fast. After their medical, they were scheduled to come to MOM within a week. Why would mine take more than 3 weeks? Is it the employer or the agent's fault?

Agents rarely help and usually make things more difficult. (But at least you do not pay for them, as all such cost must be borne ny the employer, by law.)
I recommend you talk to your employer’s HR prople directly to figure out what is happening. With IPA and medical, the work pass is normally issued within a few days.
