Buying condos as investments?

bigpearl

Aside Lotus why ask me as I'm over 1,000 kilometers away and we are all aware of what's happening in our locale or fools if we don't,

As per the topic I doubt condominiums as a good investment unless you buy in cheap or buy a very high end condo, maybe, maybe not. The condo we leased 13 years ago were generally for sale around the P 6 to 7M mark in a 1 year old 22 story complex, I looked a couple of years ago and plenty available at exactly the same price. We didn't mind living there as it was convenient to most services, no need for a car but Ben had his bike for getting to work. What I didn't like was the enforced regimentation, no maintenance with faults including window leaks, the noise and pollution, we would have to pay for our guests to swim in the very large pool that was mostly deserted.

Condo living is fine though was not for us but will suit many depending on the lifestyle required.

Simply monitor the sales and turnover through the years and the answers will be there as well as considering the over supply in this market segment and the big corps are not backing off, simply flooding the market.

OMO.

My follow on from my last post.

We spent years to find our bit of nirvana/paradise and has been perfect since living here and sure while the lucrative offers keep rolling in are worth considering at a profit point of view.

Two things I tell the better half, 1/ We don't need the money. 2/ Do you want me to spend the next 2 or 3 years finding the next perfect property?

I'm retired and my property hunting days are over, more than over. My boots are firmly planted here until my demise.

Cheers, Steve.

During an earthquake here in Davao a few years ago 2 condos were damaged so bad the residents  were not allowed to return, the worst thing they are going to have to pay for the demolition
