Well "gman in the house", what I can ascertain from your post, a 70% disability from the Vietnam era puts you in the age bracket of being 70 plus years old.

By reading your post and trying not to be offensive, you need help beyond what you're capable of doing for yourself. A visit to the closest VA Hospital for counseling and medical help if you have not done so already.

I know there a few veterans on this site that would probably have better advice than i can give. I deployed there om a West Pac 6 months deployment back in 78-79 to Subic Bay. In and out of there conducting ASW during the cold war. Its a totally different world  there. After my wife death in 2018 I decided to go back and meet a gal that a close Navy buddies wife suggested i meet her niece. I spent the entire summer there last year June to September. Some things have changed but really not to much. Family is always a top priority and you have to set boundaries and rules. If you never have been there you have much to learn before even booking a flight. Can you tolerate the heat and humidity!  Can you tolerate dogs barking and roosters crowing? Living in the mountains with limited food selections? Taking a dipper bath and CR? Loud Karaoke? Their customs and superstitions? Being around large groups at festivals and birthday parties? Only hearing everyone speaking Tagalog or Cebuano or many of the other dialects? Watch your wallet! You have to ultimately consider your healthcare there because its limited and you will have to pay cash for up front even if you have international health insurance as I had bought through Allianz Global. I used REMITLY to send myself money to her bank account. Good luck to you sir if you decide to go! Just educate yourself prior
