Is it possible to buy a house in Malaysia ?

AngelaCanberra

I wonder if it is possible to buy a free standing house, with a large garden of at least 1/4 acre , near one of the good international schools?  I am interested in living in Malaysia, but apartment living is not for me as I have young children who like to play outside and we love gardening.  Is there anywhere where this type of life is an option in Malaysia?  Thank you.

Yes, it's possible.  It's even REQUIRED for the MM2H visa but I think the stipulation is that you have to buy from a developer/builder and not from an individual.  The SEZ visa requires that you buy in Forest City.

With further thought, it may not be so easy to buy a property with such a large yard from a developer/builder because usually I see developments with smaller yards if any yard at all.
