Hello everyone,

Would you recommend studying abroad in Kazakhstan?

Every year, 4 million young people from all over the world choose to study abroad for one semester or a full academic year. Would you encourage them to come and study in Kazakhstan?

In your opinion, what are the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country/area? Are these free of charge? If not, are tuition fees expensive? Are there many foreign students enrolled in these schools/colleges/universities? What is the main language of instruction at the university?

In a word, no.

Explanation? Perhaps the explanation is clear when you realise that many good students from Kazakhstan will go to Russia or other countries to study because the value of a KZ degree is almost nil.

The corruption endemic in the higher education sector is dispiriting, all qualifications are up for sale. Seeing lecturers on the equivalent of US$300-400 per month driving US$100 000 cars confirms it.
