Aussies thrown out of Bali

GuestPoster1236

See above link.

What’s going on here.
How does that affect those on retirement visas.   I’m assuming it’s mainly for tourists that are stranded, but the media story mentioned long term expats.

LOL!  Based on my long experience following Australian media coverage of Bali, I am totally convinced that the Australian media is an extension of DFAT, and used to try to convince Australians to spend their vacation funds in OZ...and not Bali.

Emergency visas are over now that international flights are resuming.  And that's for all foreigners...not just Australians.

Thats something I really dont understand.
The Emergency Visa is over, but the Covid-19 emergency is still on.
According with the last update from Governor Koster, ithe borders to nternational turist could be re-open at 11 settember (what a date!!!),

International flights have (are) resuming, thus no need for an emergency visa since there is no reason why a foreigner can't leave.

But yeah, I agree...9/11 is a curious date to chose.

The Australian media have gone hysterical over anything virus related.

For various reasons they’ve had a bias against Bali & this is just more of the same.    It just envy & jealousy.....some can’t stand the fact that everyday Joes can simply go a few hours and have a nice holiday.

It’s a basket case back there now..... states locking down, people hiding under their beds clutching rosary beads,  people hiding in the trunks of cars getting smuggled across borders........

And........No Dancing .  😆😆😆

As Johnny Cash sang,
“Bad news travels like wild fire , good news travel slowâ€.

As the former owner of that  News Media press article once said....

If it bleeds,,,it leads.

Ontheroads57....I'm an Australian, have a business in Bali for 10 years and have just returned from Australia 1 month ago.
Yep Australian media is guilty of misrepresenting the facts, much the some as the media world wide. Yes for many years there has been a bias against Bali as a tourist destination for Australians mostly driven by Tourism Australia.
But don't be like the media, if you don't know the true  story better you don't post anything.
