The point Fred is making is that you need to research and possess skills Indonesians do not have. Bali is a place full of people looking for work and so you need to be able to ensure that you have an employer who will sponsor your employment otherwise there is very little hope.
So its not about whether what you have is good enough for Bali its about having something a company needs and can afford that it cannot get from the local workforce and it can satisfy the government that hiring you is needed.

And, just to add to what Luke said, beware of companies here in Bali who will say to you, "no worries, we'll get a work permit for you" and then never do.聽

The way the law works here...it's the foreigner who is caught working illegally that gets punished, and not the employer who failed to act in a legal manner.
