You can get a 60 day visa for Indonesia by visiting its Embassy in Thailand, otherwise yes, 30 days on arrival and then leave and then return on another tourist visa.
Each visa will fill a page and costs $25 USD so it is best to pay with US Dollar not Rupiah as immigration do not like to give change.

Actually the new rules let you come in on a 30 day VOA, then renew for another 30 days without leaving the country. I believe the fee for the extension is 250,000 rupiah.

Hi

Hope this is not too late giving my advise.  I am agree you just go to the embassy then you extend your staying here without have to leave first.  If I am not wrong the new regulation fee is around USD 300 and actually you can extend for couple times. Each time you extend then have 30 days to stay.  The total maximum months you can stay in Indonesia are between four to five months including the first two months of your visa tourist.  Usually the third times you would to extend then this became hard as you got to answer many questions.  Basically happens the embassy will only give total four months staying in Indonesia.  Very rarely they give five months, depends on case per case.  So do not too worry and just enjoy your visit in my country, Indonesia.  By the way if you need more info then welcome to email me:  tambunandesy@yahoo.com

Hi Guys,

I have just got my KITAS from Social Budaya, I was wondering if I had to have a NPWP before I can travel out of this country?

Please help me, because I think my agent was telling me that after KITAS I needed to apply for my current address, family situation link to RT/RW ???? & all other things that I didn't understand. It's so frustrating, why didn't they tell me in the first place of  all the procedure, it's always more jiberish language which they tried to explain them to me. Which made me even more confused.

I was asking him weather it was really required, he didn't really know weather it was or it wasn't or maybe he was trying to milk me for more money. So I don't really trust him anymore.

Now I don't really know if I have to travel out of the country, could I just go with my KITAS?

Please help.
