Hi there
I am looking at coming to live in PP early next year for approx 12 months, I'm just going through a marriage break up atm, so looking for somewhere to spend some me time after 30 years, what better place to come to!
I have a good network of friends there already who are Govt Officials.
I have hosted many over the years while studying in NZÂ with the ELTO programme. so it seemed like the ideal place to come.
My son is also planning to live with me for 3-6 months as well. I have been to PP several times in the past, last visit was to a wedding this year in April, love the country and love the people.
Looking forward to this new stage of my life
Kaye

Welcome I had the same story , after 18 years , but I visited four years ago , I’m still here , I will never leave
Welcome Kaye.
Nice to hear such positive sounds, you will be well in this lovely country.

Hi Hani. For me, the best place to find teaching vacancies has been on Facebook. Try the group called Teachers in Siem Reap to start with. There's been quite a few teaching vacancies lately. Helen

Hi,
I'm a fit 50 year old kiwi. I fell in love with Cambodia - in fact I'd never felt as at home as when I first arrived in phnom Penh. Life is very real here in all aspects, it's humanity laid bare. Coming from an overprivleged westen country, where I operate a transfer station (rubbish dump), and looking at the obscene consumerism & subsequent gross wasteage that society wastes compared to the gruelling lives so many Khmer accept as their lot, never quite having enough. So I decided to look into setting up businesses the elevate working class khmer economically while supplementing a degree of free language & other educational wantings that keep people trapped in subsistence lifestyles. The business model improves behind that with more able & use full employees.
So, I decided to come here & see if I can make it work. In many ways Cambodia is a last frontier, that sure beats living in predictably & drudgery.

I’m up for volunteer teaching English, I don’t need to be paid, but I want a worth while project, someone I can really help, but I don’t really need money so if you set something up let me know I live in Phnom Penh 8-10 months a year
Hi, this is Monireth (call me Moni) I am living in Cambodia, work as freelance consultant just joint today

Welcome to Cambodia, Phnom Penh?
Hello Gary from usa. Recently retired. I waa planning on living in Thailand. After my second trip to Cambodia i ve changed my mind and decided to öive here instead.  Im currently in Kampot. Wow nice little town with a very chill vibe.  I really cant make up my mind to stay here or go to Phnom Penh. Both have their advantages. Every time I start to leave Kompat I end up staying a few more days. Its a toogh place to leave. I might be here gor a while

Welcome I live in Phnom Penh , but kampot is fantastic, both good picks , and both will still be here if you decide to change , we have a similar story, I’m from USA , also thought Thailand, oh that was the best choice I’ve made cambodia, it’s so much easier, and the people are so kind , wise wise choice , thailand would be my last pick in Southeast Asia,
Gary, it depends on what you want.
If you want quiet surroundings and the odd river tour by boat stay in Kampot.
If you want action and all it gets in a big city move to PP, it's a big city but with parts of it having the charm of a little town.
All you need is there i PP, hospitals state of the art, restaurants as many as you can think of, coffee shops, shopping malls, bars to enjoy khmer girls company, it's all here in PP.
But if you like the rest before you die stay in Kampot, fellow expats call it the waiting room for the dead. Very boring, but some like it.
Good luck.

Hi hi hi
I already  "gone native" in Thailand for14 years and find it 'same, same but different' her....The Khmer seem to have, in many ways, a refreshingly different cultural personality from the Thais-I am writing a book about Thai politics and culture. I study Buddhism and try but fail to practice. Good to be here.

We are both experienced Canadian certified teachers. Looking forward to learning about living and possibly working in Cambodia. Hi, my name is Zack.
I'm planning to move to Cambodia, maybe Phnom Penh by end of this month (October).
My previous job was a Senior System & Software Developer at a manufacturing plant based in Malaysia. I have passion for innovations and DIY stuff, and I would love to share those knowledge with the local community in Phnom Penh, maybe through sharing sessions for the kids or workshops for the adults.
I have no clear direction where to get started, hence I would love to get any help from everyone here.
Welcome aboard this forum Zack.
Scroll through the various threads here for information, if you still got questions post them in the appropriate thread or start a new thread.
As for your special job request I would advise to use headhunters or job agencies.
Cheers.
