What kind of "adventures" are you looking for?
If you're looking to meet people and be more socially active, there are plenty of clubs that you can join. Think sports, charitable activities, volunteering etc.
South African people are very fond of an active yet relaxing lifestyle. You'll find plenty of hiking associations, cycling clubs, fishing clubs and so on. Google is your friend.
Of course, you need to pursue those adventures that you want to experience, and not sit around waiting for them to happen.
