Hi, I am returning for my 5th visit to Marrakech in sept and will need a mobile phone whilst there.
my options are - bring my uk phone and run up a huge bill
or bring an old uk phone and buy a sim card - where from? if the phone is locked or coded where can I get this done and at what cost?
or buy a cheap phone in marrakech and local sim card
help聽 - which is the best option ?

Buy a cheap phone and sim card. you can buy a cheap phone at meditel or itisalat for around 250dh ($30)

English MOBILES works well in Morocco if it is unlocked.
unlocked a phone in morroco its no expensive, maximum 100 DH, or see with you're operator in England, sometimes its free if like France.
there are several telephone operators in Morocco

Best thing to do is to don't have a phone in Morocco at all. It is extremely expensive.

If you still wanted badly then bring your phone from UK here. Most of the phones now days are unlocked with any network . If your phone is very old then you can unlock it in UK for 5 pound which is cheaper then if you unlock it in Morocco.

The SIM card unfortunately you have to buy it聽聽in morocco
