Divorce in Morroco. I am British

Hi. I married a Moroccan in Georgia, Armenia. In April. Applied successfully for a UK visa. He arrived end of August, after 4 weeks discovered he only married me for the visa. Visa is now cancelled and he is threatening me to start divorce proceedings. He is back in Morroco. I don't want the marriage but have no urgency or need to spend yet more money to start proceedings. I paid gor everything so far. He is telling me to start proceedings and when he has money he will pay be back. Which I know is never. I refuse to spend one more penny on him and he cannot come back to the UK anyway. Can he divorce me in morroco and do I need to be present and how long will it take please. Thank you

@ancillamcpherson so sorry to hear that things didn鈥檛 work out. these things certainly take a lot of time and effort, not to mention the money and costs involved. but it鈥檚 good that you got to know his true intentions so quickly. and before you lost more time and money.

can i ask a couple of question? how did you manage to get him removed from the UK so quickly? and also, how did you find out his true intentions?

@ancillamcpherson if your not in a hurry to get a divorce then let him rot. he can鈥檛 marry again until things are finalised with you. let him do the divorce from over there and he can pay the costs as well!
