Any other advise would be more than welcome

brockmhewitt

Hello all,

I am an American who has been living/working off and on in Africa for several years - most recently in Mauritania. I plan to rent a house/villa in Marrakech this spring/summer for a year to determine if I would like to establish a permanent residence there.

I have several items which I could use some advise on -

1) Relocation budget - how much does it cost to set up utilities? Water - electricity - internet - etc?

2) Does anyone know a moving company that deals with moving within Africa? A 20' container would be more than sufficient - approx. 4 room house + a storage shed.

3) Real estate agents that deal in rentals - I am primarily looking at the Gueliz district but would consider most any area central in Marrakech. (One problem might be that I have two dogs in Nouakchott that I would like to bring so I need a small yard)

4) Any other advise would be more than welcome.

Thank you!

Hello , welcome to morocco .

That's will be a wonderful Decesion to spend a year in marrakech its a lovely spiritual city .

For Water and electricity bills in gueliz for appartement with two big rooms the price was 60 euro monthly and internet was 25 euro it was good internet but you can make it more to 50 euro fibre optic if your work need it .

For you , i think villa or big house with yard will be the good idea because of the dogs and your 4 room stuff but its expensive in center of gueliz .

I will talk to a realtor friend in marrakech to give me information about your need to see if there is .

You will get your residency its not a hard process just you need to wait and follow instructions and all will be good . A friend from usa get it last summer in tanger so you can too .
