You might want to try Northfields - it is up North but you can take the highway there and it takes 20 minutes maximum. Do NOT go to Le Bocage - *** the students there speak creole even though it is supposed to be an English speaking school. A lot of people on expat blog will promote "Le Bocage"  but it is terrible.

Thank you Sabrina! Your honesty and info very useful! The only problem I have is the terms run different to SA schools at Northfields but will go see tomorrow morning and see what I can accomplish. Sad to hear about your daughter and what she went through! Xx

Hello

May I know what's wrong if some Creol is spoken at Le Bocage?

I guess you do know the main lingua-franca of Mauritius is Creol and spoken by more than 95% of the population.
Le Bocage, being an English language speaking school or not, with a large expat student population, remains a Mauritian school and there's nothing unusual about the mother tongue of the island being spoken there.

My daughter is at Le Bocage.

What is actually the issue if Creole is spoken anywhere ... on an island where creole is the base language?

Azhar Duman

I live in the west of the island and my daughter goes to Northfields.
I am very happy with the environment and school policies.

Check: Northfields International School, Mauritius

We've recently relocated from South Africa, and our son goes to Northfields. Our son loves it, and hasn't been prejudiced by the fact that the terms run differently. Good luck with your decision :)

Hi! May I ask if you use the school bus service? We are trying to find out if there is one.

Tracey08

Hi, we don't use the bus service, but if you contact the school, they will give you the number for the bus that travels from the West.

Thanks!

Hi Bridgette, I’d be interested in knowing what you ended up doing with regards to schooling for your kids. We will also be settling in the West and unfortunately west coast international say that they have no space and la bacage is an hour travel time I believe. My daughter is 13 so she needs to be in a high school. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Mandy
