Grand Baie is ideal spot for tourists.
All round the island you will get seafood and various types of mauritian cuisine.
Veg options are limited to iskcon and some specific places in port louis curepipe. ....

It would help if you say what sort of thing you like to do and if you plan to rent  car. Also do you want a hotel or self catering.

@tina2712 I also heard a lot of many good things about this famous restaurant (but never had the chance to visit it.. probably one day)
