Pereybeyre is very far from Moka. The areas near Le Bocage school is beautiful, I would suggest that you look out for an accomodation there itself.

When we were trying to work out travelling time from area's to my husbands place of work - I used Google maps, as you can put in area (A) to area (B) and it tells you estimated travel time by car, walk etc

So we live in Tamarin and my husband commutes to Ebene. A 35-45 min drive.

Tamarin has a very nice expat community and is really well organised. Flic en Flac might be closer in commute though with access still to people in Tamarin. I would suggest possibly getting a short term furnished holiday apartment in Flic en Flac and then seeing what you think. Very hard to gauge from google maps what it is actually like here.....

I was not actually suggesting any area's to live - as you know I have not been here long enough to know

(I just used Tamarin to Ebene as an example of travel times shown by Google and added on extra for traffic)

Just trying to give a clue as to travel times from area's that Courtney has in her mind.

I would also thoroughly recommend renting short term say 1-2 months, and spending weekends finding out about possible areas etc

I know someone who lives in Flic en Flac and works at La Bocage. She's been doing the journey for the last 10 years, or so and I think it takes about 40 minutes. I know she leaves fairly early and knows all the shortcuts because she's been here for about 25 years.

I think Keno's suggestion about getting a short term let is a good one.

If it is for your kids school, then Pereybere would be ideal to live - there are a lot of parents from that school who send their kids by taxi to school at a nominal monthly cost
