Do I need new biometric ID before renewing Mauritian passport

Hi everyone,


My Mauritian passport is expiring soon, and I don't yet have the new biometric ID. Can I renew my passport using my old laminated ID, or do I need to first get the biometric ID before I can renew my passport?
