You will need to get an external antenna I think. The small USB modem seems to have a problem with signal strength. Have you tried alternate locations in your house? You may find some areas have better signal strength than others, even height variations change the signal strength...... it's a whole new art form altogether

If you are referring to the small echolife white usb wimax device, the signal can be boosted by using a USB extension cable. You should be able to pick one up from most IT shops in Libya.

I have a 3m extension that works very well. It gives you flexibility to place the modem in a reception sweet spot (Dangled out of a window or raised up high).

Try to keep the device away from large metal surfaces.

Thanks for the input - I originally tried teh USB system but it turned out to be incompatible with our MAC?  Not sure why.  So when for the standard system.  I will try and purchase an external antenna and see how it goes.

I'm using the USB device with my MacBook Pro, there is a beta(test) driver on the LTT website. It's a little bit buggy but it does work, I understand it is still under development.

Simeone you can also check the location of the Wimax tower nearest your house from the LTT website. They have to locations highlighted on the google map. This will give you an idea of why your signal is weak.

Well I bought an antenna for LYD 220 and located it on the roof pointed NE (recommended by a friend in the know).  Any way plugging said antennae into back of rabbit ears (the right hand one looking from the back) and no change - tried other plug and loose all signal.  This seems so simple so I am at a loss as to why I am not getting better receptions but in fact WORSE?

Check the polarity first. Turn the external antenna thru 90 degrees an try again.

Those were required when these USB Wimax's first came, did you know that now all you have to do in order to raise the signal strength of the wimax is download the firmware regularly updated on ltt.ly and simply update you dongle. I am getting 4 signals after doing that in a remote area and that's the best it can get.
