Banking solutions in Egypt

Craig_ema

I have a job lined up in the coming months  Oil and Gas company in Cairo. I have been told  i will be paid in US dollars to avoid any Egyptian Pound fluctuations. Should i bank locally or wire transfer to offshore account. I am currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Here you are required to open a local account to receive payment. The Saudi Riyal is pegged to the US Dollar so i can wire offshore at regular intervals.

What is the expat banking situation like in Egypt?

You can bank locally but open an account using USD to be paid and to be able and withdraw using USD.

Banks in Egypt are not that good so try to use a big and well known bank. And try to get premium account status if possible.

Good luck
