How is the smartphone situation in Egypt? I don't know if I could go without a smartphone with an unlimited data package to allow me to check my gmail account and use gmail chat with my contacts, plus navigation, and web access...what would a phone with this kind of plan run for?

There was a ban on GPS, but it was lifted last April so its available now.

Search Vodafone Egypt, Mobinil, Etisalat Egypt on Google. Those are the three wireless phone service providers and check the info on their sites.聽 if it comes up in Arabic there will be an English icon in the site or type English next to the name in google.
