iame wrote " in positive & negative in egypt post "

" It appears that this guys no nothing about us, I don't wanna go deep through this, but if the change is to be like UK, we don't wanna be like this, it is like when Mahatma Gandhi was asked what he thought of Western civilization, he said I think it would be a good idea."

so this is my experince as an expat in great britain to people who gets thier ideas about the west from movies,

me and my late british husband had to rush to the hospital in london as he had a brain tumor.

*he was checked in & in his bed in 10 minutes and doctors were around in less than half an hour " nobody asked for pappers or money "

*there was a building next to the hospital for patiants relatives who aren"t living near by, clean room"tea,coffee"
never paid for it , may be its on health insurance.

*atfer we gone through a journey of medical perfection i started to go around i was amazed from the amount of charity shops " people who don"t need anything they donate it to those shops they sell it at very cheap prices and give there income to cancer, aids research etc, or homless shelters or the churchs ?

*things got bad and my dear kelvien was paralyzed and there was nothing they cuold do so i wanted his last moments to be with me so i wanted him home ! his doctor refused & said somthing i never forgot "he had gained too much wieght if you done your back you have done"t for good "& if you heart him it will be compelicated , he joks learn from the nurse " i did & only when the nurse told him she can do it he said ok but after they prepair the flat " i didn"t understand prepair what.

*they equipped the flat with lighting alarm above his bed,wheelchair ,ramp, bath machine to get him up & dowen and lots of other thing even my gloves they got boxes of ?

* i had a stif nek and went to our doctor he checked me in 2 minutes and said you either take pain killer or tranqulizer , i said no and went home thinking he didn"t care,3 dayes later,letters from women in crices organization, dealing with cancer etc, refering from our doctor to see how they can help me, of course i went and apologize to him

* after we"r home a social worker started to come weekly ask me if i need anything and how i"am doing i use to say evrything is ok ! till one day she said you look very tiring i said i don"t get much sleep she said why you didn"t say , you"r saving the government 1000 a week by looking after your husband at home you are intitle for full help " they sent a nurse from 10 pm - 6 am to let me sleep and a church number to call for volunteers to sit with kelvien whil i want to go out, and lots of other things i never thought they help with !

* all this great people " nurses, socilworker , volunteers " no gifts allowed , they come even with thier tea & whatever they need???

sweet great britain , thank you so much , you made the worse time of my life as easy as it could be.

hello suzana

i"am so happy to read your experince in england as it give me a good idea about whats happining out there, sorry but i never thought that there"s charity activities in western countries, i thought that this was only in arab countries ?

suzana

hello swan;

to be honest that was my idea as well, the first time i seen those shops i thought something wrong with my english, later on i found out they have a lot off charity activeties & most off people on pension "old people " do volunteer in diffirent organizations to help out others" and this is a kind off charity on itselfe".
