Advice for an entrepreneur looking for a job in Douala

DC-DLA-DC

Hello everyone, I will appreciate it if I can receive some advice and help if possible. Thank you for reading my message.

I am originally from Cameroon but I have been living in the USA since I am a teenager. I have a Business Marketing Degree from a very good Business School in the USA and I have always had good grades. I have been working in the USA since I am 18 years old and I started having managerial positions at a young age.

A few years ago, I saw an opportunity, I left my job and I started a business in between the USA and Cameroon. Unfortunately, I cannot continue with my business. I make money but not as much as I had hoped. I have too many expenses and I am obliged to travel all the time in between the USA and Douala. I have no life and I must admit that I am tired of all this, and I have too many problems to deal with business wise. So I recently gave up on the business.

Instead of taking a job back in the USA, I really want to settle and work in Douala. I really believe that I can greatly contribute to the development of a company given my experience. I would like to find a job that fits well with my professional experience and my skills, with a good salary. The problem is that I do not know how things really work in Cameroon. I have been told all kind of negative things about the working environment in Cameroon and the people I know always say they will help but never do.  I sent my CV to recruiting companies and I also applied online so I am waiting for something good to happen (hopefully). I am not discouraged at all, and I know that nothing is easy in life. I would like to have your honest opinions on the topic please.

I have over 10 years of working experience in the business world. I have my CV in English and in French, and I have a copy of all my diplomas. I learn very quickly and I can hold just about any managerial position within a company, regardless of the industry (banking, insurance, telecommunication, small and medium size to big size companies etc…).

Thank you for helping me with advice, recommendations, and if you are hiring, I am currently in Douala and available for an interview.

Stay Blessed.

Perhaps I could suggest you post in "Jobs" at the top of this page.
Include your CV to give you a greater chance of finding work.
Posts there get more views and tend to last a lot longer as forum threads disappear down the list quite quickly.

Thank you for mentioning that Fred. I will look at that section.
