AAA, the Puerto Rico water company by Gary
The water company has a strange definition of what's a reason for an emergency repair. The main valve of our connection broke when I was trying to open it after a repair to the house water system so my wife called the water company. "Is ...

ReyP. Believe it. PR is an alternate universe. Living there is kind of like trying to figure out quantum mechanics and string theory. I always go back to an argument with a Puerto Rican. What I was telling him made perfect sense. He wasn't ... Read More

Why are you surprised Gary? You should be used to that kind of stuff by now. A few years ago PR came up with a new tourism slogan they used in commercials. I can't recall exactly what is was. But I made up my own slogan at the time as a result ... Read More

If you want to go to Germany you better do it soon. The refugees are rapididly coming there in droves and there will come a day when there won't be many true Germans left. Saw a video on it the other night. Pretty scary. Disclaimer: I'm not ... Read More

puppies by sandrarduncan
We have a stray dog that just had a litter of 7 puppies sometime between our move Oct1 to yesterday. I am trying to find foster care or adoption. Our new place in Rincon doesn't allow pets. I have made many post and they have been shared. ...

Get in touch with Barks of Hope and ask for Leo Roubian at 201-966-1965. She helped us rescue about 20 dogs before we left PR. She is located in Rincon. Tell her Gregg and Foxy Mama sent you. ARF of Rincon is another one. They help with strays in ... Read More

Looking for Glass Replacement for Pictures by melendezki
A few pictures that we shipped arrived with broken glass and we cannot find anyone that can replace the glass. We live in Rio Grande, but can travel anywhere on the island.

Thank you for your kind reply. I hope you find exactly what you need at this place. But just always keep in mind, now that you are in Puerto Rico you are in a different world where things are usually more complicated and we take for granted that we ... Read More

Not their fault the people are out of business. There's a lot of that going on in PR these days. But when you reach out for help and people take the time and effort to try and help even if it doesn't work out, a "thank you for ... Read More

Interest in holistic energy medicine? by Rgdakota

Have your lady travel to the Sunday farmers market at the Plaza in Rincon and meet the vendors. There are plenty of people there that are involved in that type of stuff. If she plans on starting an official and legitimate business, she can count on ... Read More

It's my observation that you may want to lower the bar a bit on your wants and expectations. You are in Puerto Rico now. Get used to the unavailability of those things you must have and learn to live with what this island has to offer. There ... Read More

Loiza safety by JF214
I saw.a very nice looking apartment in Loiza in what looks like a decent area. But when I google I find forums with people saying it's unsafe. Does anybody who has actually spent time in Loiza have an opinion on this?

My wife shares the same sentiments about Loiza as Dora787 does. She's from PR. I asked her about Loiza being safe and she said "Loiza, are you kidding?" All I know about Loiza is that I went there one time years ago to a golf course ... Read More

Go to Home Depot. They cut glass here in the states. Go to Walmart and buy a cheap picture frame the same size as the broken ones and use the glass from that. Ask the locals. We found a place in Mayaguez when we lived there. My wife knew about it ... Read More
