Conservation Biologist, new to UB by nac13
Hi there, I arrived a week ago and would quite like to meet others for a drink and a chat. I've found out how and where to pay my bills, shop for food and get a residents permit; I'm just settling in to my job and surroundings. Whether you're in ...

Hi Nac13, I am not an expat but a good way of meeting expats would be to hang out where they do! I would recommend The grand khan irish pub, a cafe called Millies and the restaurant Veranda. Also Amnesty international has foreign volunteers and ... Read More

Hi everyone. I am 22 from England and have been in ulaanbaatar for about a week. I was wondering where most expats hang out (bars/pubs/cafe's) as I have only met 2 people so far I can have a conversation with. I would really appreciate some info on ...

Also you can fin lots of foreigners having a drink and meal at The Square grill and pub and Veranda. Veranda seems to be a popular place for expats and so is a place called Millie's. Check these places out, I am sure you will meet new people! Read More

There are many expat hangouts in UB, I would recommend going to Grand Khan Irish Pub which is next to the Drama Theatre. It has a good selection of beers and live music. A lot of foreigners hang out there! Read More

Gym costs?? by jeanett.michel
Hey, I've been living in UB now for 3 months and I'm loving it! And now it is time to get back to the gym. does anyone know the average gym costs?? Thanks!

Hei Jeanett.michel! There are many gyms around UB, I think it would be better to use one closer to where you live! The Gyms in the Zaisan area is very clean, nice and has a great environment, though it may be a bit pricier! If you need help, ... Read More
