I would recommend to you a village 160km from Craiova. It's called ,, Dubova聽 '' and it's a nice romanian-serbian fisher village, on the border. You can find there an interesting cave ( Pestera Ponicova ) , guesthouses where you can eat fish and swim in the pool or in the Danube, boat tours, etc.
聽 I'm from Bucharest and i was there three times, the atmosphere is good, not too noisy, the nature is still well preserved. Ask the locals ( your colleagues) about it. I like to travel and I'm happy to answer on any specific question regarding tourism.
